The Mountain Trails Foundation has announced it’s popular trail run series including the Triple Trail Challenge.

Each of the following three trail races are spanned over a five week period culminating in the Mid Mountain Marathon.

Jupiter Peak Steeplechase – August 6, 2011

The Jupiter Peak Steeplechase is a grueling 16 mile climb from the base of Park City Mountain Resort to the top of Jupiter Peak and back. It boasts a 3,400 vertical rise along singletrack and jeep road throughout the Park City Mountain Resort. This race is not for the faint of heart as the run tops out at nearly 10,400 feet and is a part of the national La Sportiva Mountain Cup championship series.

Park City Marathon and Half Marathon – August 20, 2011

The Park City Marathon and Half Marathon gives participants a great intro into the off-mountain trail system the Mountain Trails Foundation has developed over the years as it meanders behind neighborhoods and along streams while avoiding the strenuous mountain trails that would leave lowlanders gasping for air. It features a 26.2 course that encircles the valley that makes up Park City and a 13.1 course that follows the McLeod creek from Newpark (in Kimball Junction) to near the McPolin Barn and back.

Mid Mountain Marathon – September 10, 2011

26.2 miles of amazing single-track across all three Park City Resorts. Ten degrees cooler than town with the flowers in bloom makes this one of the premiere trail races in the country. The rolling hills on this trail will challenge the average marathoner, but the consistent elevation keeps the trail within reach of nearly any marathon runner. No massive uphills or precarious downhills to navigate makes this a must for any endurance runner.

This year is going to bring some of the most anticipated changes to Utah’s largest ski resort in a long time.

Anyone who has hiked, biked or ran the Mid-Mountain Trail has seen one of the major improvements coming this year to the resort first-hand. The long-rumored Iron Mountain Chair lift has finally arrived. Folks have been saying this would be coming for the past couple years around Park City, but the rumor is finally a reality.

Iron Mountain Lift Map

All the bobble-headed bike riding will surely be worth it as Iron Mountain is one of the best kept secrets among backcountry skiers opened up to the masses.

Another huge improvement to the Canyons this year is the re-routing of the Flight of the Canyons Gondola and expansion of the Golden Eagle lift into a high-speed quad that will get us onto the West side of the resort in record time.

Here’s a link to all of the changes the Canyons has worked on this summer.

Canyons Improvements Map

See you on the mountain!

Time to start digging the quarters out of the couch and raiding the college funds again. Park City Mountain Resort has officially started selling season passes for the upcoming 2010-2011 ski season.

Although none of the business pass prices are posted, the rest of the pricing and increase dates are available at the link below.

Rumors are that the trees above the ski team Super G runs at PCMR are being thinned! This area of the mountain is home to some of the steeper low-mountain terrain on the resort and will likely be a great option for locals looking for a short day or lunch break session.

The Canyons have made some significant changes in the off-season, but PCMR is still probably the easiest and fastest way to get turns in for Old Town residents.

As the first blog post on this site, I would like to introduce you to our company and give you an idea of what we do.

We are a private company that works with Taxi, Limousine and Van operators in many of the most visited mountain communities and resorts in the Mountain West.

After establishing ourselves in the Park City, Utah area, we have brought drivers from several other resort communities into the fold.

We used the experiences developed in Park City to ensure we have the safest and most knowledgeable drivers in each community and look forward to showing you how local drivers can help you make the most out of your trip.

Whether it’s a restaurant recommendation or info on the week’s events, our drivers are generally in the know in each community we service. If you have any questions about our service, please feel free to send an e-mail or make a call anytime.
